On Thursday, February 12, Matix threw a release party for the debut of their 10-year anniversary book, This Is Progress. In it, skateboarders, photographers, and other contributors share what Matix means to them. Matix devotees from the greater L.A. area converged upon the Art and Architecture bookstore to pick up a copy and get it signed by some of the people featured in the book. Check out more photos at Transworld Surf.

Matix’s Tony Evjenth and Lori Epner orchestrated the show.

The crowd at the Art and Architecture bookstore.

Podium President Brian “BD” Dunlap and wife Sandy (“SD?”) Dunlap.

Shadlambert.com was there hanging out with my ride, Transworld Skateboarding’s Mike Fitz.

Shadlambert.com is good at making friends, though. This is his new friend, Kimberly.

Red Bull had the party bus on site, to supply everyone with adult drinks.

Tony signing a book for Chris Casey of the Captain and Casey fame. Tony signed it like a yearbook. “See you next year! Have a great summer!”

On the way home we saw a car on fire. Kind of a shitty one to end on, but we didn’t go to the afterparty. San Diego is a hell of a drive. I’m sure it was bonkers…

I can’t stand the “Progress” commercials. They are very annoying.

I admire Matix, they’re brand has always been nice. Daewon is a great humble person and knowing now that he helped build Matix makes me appreciate the brand even more. I think the Tangram commercials are deep, let other people hate, Matix is fresh.

Wack, what is Quiksilver, Gotcha and Tsubi have to do with anything? Matix commands their brand in their own image that has no relation to those other brands. Matix was conceived thru the skate/street culture & is run by some great veterans in my eyes. I’ve always been a fan and friend of the Matix 1st Brigade and wish them another 10 great years. Dangerous? go suck on some donkey scrotum boy, haha.

Naw, see your mom was there she was giving up the sauce. She has a tangram coochie and progresses with a hairy backside.
