Modern Assembly, a new strategic alliance made up of the AccessoriesTheShow, Agenda, Capsule, Liberty, MRket and Stitch tradeshows, has announced a unified presence to debut in Las Vegas for August 2013. The shows will present A/W 2013 collections from more than 2500 brands at the Venetian and Sands Expo in a newly developed, streamlined format for one of North America’s largest fashion market weeks.
We caught up with Agenda Founder Aaron Levant to learn more about the show and its impact on Agenda’s other venues:
Will this replace Agenda Long Beach or in any way affect it?
This will have no effect on our Long Beach show, that show is still growing and is our flagship show. We see our brands hitting the trade show circuit each season and that could involve going to at least three to six shows in a two month period depending on the brand. We see some brands hitting six to 10 shows if they are involved in the winter-sports market. Each stop of the show train offers the brands an opportunity to hit different set of buyers from different demos.
Our show in Vegas will be offering an alternative to a stop on the circuit that brands are already making, and we think our customers will make the switch from shows like Magic or Project because Agenda has a better understanding of their market and keeps our shows curated/ focused.
How will Agenda Vegas differ from Long Beach?
The Vegas show will be more of a core focused Streetwear/Lifestyle show and the Long Beach show has become more of an all encompassing ActionSports / Youth Culture show with around 600 brands. In Vegas we will be launching with around 150 to 200 brands and the mix will be more like our NYC show.
Are you looking at a winter Modern Assembly in ’14 as well?
Yes, each show that is a part of Modern Assembly will be doing two shows a year in Vegas.

For the August 2013 launch of Modern Assembly, Agenda, the Los Angeles, California-based show centered on action sports and streetwear will make its Las Vegas premiere. Liberty, a new show concept by industry veteran and original Project Show founder Sam Ben-Avraham, will debut with a selection of 250 premium men’s and women’s labels. Those two shows will join Capsule, AccessoriesTheShow, MRket and Stitch, which already call the Venetian Resort and Sands Convention Center home. AccessoriesTheShow (women’s accessories), MRket (classic to contemporary menswear) and Stitch (better to contemporary women’s RTW) are part of the BJI Fashion Group, which in 2005 launched events in Las Vegas to exclusively serve the better market. Capsule, the high-end, directional contemporary show featuring a tightly edited selection of men’s and women’s labels will kick off its sixth Las Vegas edition. “
