The new Freestyle Snowboard Task Force formed during the recent FIS conference in Portoroz with TTR Pro Snowboarding, plans to cooperate on future strategies for competitive freestyle snowboarding.
The formation of the task force is a continuation of the recent collaboration between TTR and FIS to optimize both tour calendars. It began in the fall of 2010, and Jeremy Forster, the Director of US Snowboarding, will chair the force, which consists of FIS Snowboard Race Director Uwe Beier, FIS Assistant Race Director Roberto Moresi, TTR President Reto Lamm, and TTR Executive Board Member Maria McNulty. It will also consist of riders, national representatives, judges, and coaches.
The members of the group will work on the coordination of global calendars for competitive freestyle snowboarding.
“FIS very much looks forward to further building this partnership that has already shown its value for the future development of snowboarding,” said FIS Snowboard Race Director Uwe Beier. “We greatly appreciate the positive atmosphere of the cooperation and are focused on finding solutions to ensure the best promotion and opportunities for our sport.”
