“We are excited to have been able to find like minded people who believe in what we’re doing at Niche,” says Greg Hughes, VP of Sales and Marketing. Niche’s reps will be working with core shops across the continent to debut their boards in the fall of 2012. This team is already dropping into shops everywhere to share their excitement and spread the word. East Coast rep Kayli Currier states, “I am extremely stoked to be able to say I am a rep for Niche Snowboards! This company is doing great things and to be part of it is a good feeling.” Northwest rep Nick Allen echoes, “I hope to spread the stoke I’m feeling about Niche to everyone around me so that in the future everyone will ride great boards that also have saving the environment in mind.”

Niche is especially eager to partner with shops known for providing excellent service and being committed to their communities. “They are the life blood of the industry and the future of the trends,” offers SoCal rep Artie Castro. “They are also vital in helping companies be innovative since they can give so much input and support to the brands.” NorCal rep Sam Wagner continues, “A local shop is absolutely essential to the health of the snowboard industry. Where else can you receive the kind of service a smelly kid who lives in a closet can provide? The ability to talk to someone who has actually ridden the product, has the parts to fix it, and lives and breathes the lifestyle, is something that hopefully no amount of underpriced internet sites can ever uproot.”

In a sea of carbon copy decks, Niche is something different. The company aims to craft the best boards in the world while leaving the smallest possible ecological footprint. Whether it’s replacing fiberglass with basalt, using hemp stringers and sustainably harvested wood cores, or developing their cancer-free Snappy Sap Bio Resin, Niche is committed to future-friendly technology. Not only is this magical brew of materials eco-friendly, it also creates decks that are lighter, more impact resistant, and dampen vibrations better than those made with traditional materials. For Niche, caring for the environment is about reimagining what a snowboard company can be. As Canadian Sales Rep Stevie Barrett asks, “If you have the technology to be eco-friendly, why would you not use it through your entire line?”
