Mark McGuane, design manager:
What are the biggest trends shaping the hardgoods market for next year?
Obviously the economic climate has forced all players to take a sharp look at their offerings and we’ve fine-tuned our line to offer the absolute best mix of performance and value.
What are the biggest forces shaping the changes and developments you’ve made to your boards?
The widespread acceptance of rocker has inspired us to expand 5150’s RadRock™ rocker to the entire line this season. The great thing about rocker is the advantages work for both advanced riders and beginners, making snowboarding more fun for everyone!
What themes are you seeing for graphics?
Collabs are still hot, and this season we’ve teamed with iconic design group Death&Taxes to bust out a tasty graphic on the Movement model board! We love great art and design and we’ll always work with hot artists to keep it fun, real, and edgy.
What market segment are you focusing on? How and why?
Our philosophy is to make snowboarding accessible to all humans (plus any aliens who may live among us). To that end we offer a full range of pricepoints and performance for any rider whether just learning turns, or dialing in 900s!
