Stefan Gimpl Dominates

Do you know who Stefan Gimpl is? If not, get prepared to hear the name a lot. With three Big Air wins in the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup (London, Barcelona, and Stockholm) Gimpl is cleaning up on the World Cup circuit.

Hailing from Austria, Gimpl (aka “the machine”) rides for O’Neill, FTWO, Smith, and Leogang. Gimpl is taking it to the competition. Gimpl recently said “I don’t understand it. I don’t know why I’m on a roll. Especially as I’m always so nervous on top of the start that I can hardly stand. But when I’m in the in-run everything is blown off.” Whatever “it” is has helped make Gimpl a name to remember and a contender in every contest he enters.

"get prepared to hear the name a lot" - that's hilarious! If you wrote that 10 years ago I would have agreed. Then he won the Air & Style three years in row (99, 00, 01). You're right turkey sandwich he rode for Burton and is now 30. Now he's cleaing up in the FIS with good old cab 9's that he stomps perfect while all the double cork up and comers puts a hand down in the landing or over rotates.

And where did 'The Machine' come from? Stefan is most definately 'the gimp' Gimpl!

But perhaps a little harsh on the author, it's blatantly from a press release!
