Michael Jackson has been all over the news this year and we figured it was time we jumped on the hype bandwagon. Yes, we’re talking Michael Jackson of Thriller fame - Vancouver’s Thriller snowboard shop that is - and he’s happy to announce that unlike his more famous namesake, this Jackson is back.
Jackson Snowboards, which originally launched in 1991 out of Ontario is returning to the scene this season with its new Silent Series. “With the boom and bust of the Japan market, and the craze of the sport/economy dwindling, the [brand]fell dormant like many others,” says Jackson who was able to secure a new deal this year for production and delivery.
“I made these decks to cater the the riders that come to my shop,” explains Jackson They want all mountain, directional boards with back country capabilites, that look good, ride better, all for a fair price.” The boards will retail for $329 CDN.
“We’ve had a tremendous response on the first wave of sales here and we’re stoked to be back doing it for the right reasons…plus I have a son now, Gustav, who’s gonna need to ride his namesake deck !”
