National Geographic, the nation’s foremost expert on skateparks, released a “Ten Best of Everything” book for travelers. So if you want to plan your next vacation around the ten best places to ride roller coasters or watch wildlife, you’re psyched. Or if you want to visit the “Ten Best Skate Parks,” here’s their list:

The Orcas Island skatepark—an example of one that didn’t make the cut
Rye Airfield, Rye, NH
Woodward Skateparks, Philadelphia, PA
Kona Skatepark, Jacksonville, FL
Vans Skateparks, Orlando, FL
Athens Skate Park, Athens, OH
Ranney Park, Lansing, MI
Matt Hoffman Action Sports Park, Oklahoma City, OK
Alamosa Skate Park, Albuquerque, NM
Skatelab, Simi Valley, CA
Louisville Extreme Park, Louisville, KY
The trouble with naming “the best” of anything, is that you’re never gonna get it right. Especially with skateparks, no two are the same and they can be good for different reasons. I can name a few parks that probably should have made the list, but it seems like they tried to space out the parks. It’s funny how they completely ignored the Pacific Northwest entirely. And Arizona. And the Skatepark of Tampa…

They left out anything in Montana too.
