On January 29, the L.A. Times reported that Mammoth Mountain has let go of 101 employees as a cost-cutting measure due to a 21-percent drop in revenue from preseason projections.

CEO Rusty Gregory confirmed the news in an interview with KSRW radio. He also said that ten senior managers have received five-percent pay cuts, vacation time has been shortened, and gas allowances have been eliminated.

“I feel awful about it – that it’s been necessary and that employees have lost jobs,” Gregory said.
