OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - (ENGLEWOOD, CO) October 8, 2008 – Airwalk pro-surfer Anastasia Ashley reclaimed her APSPR (Association of Professional Surfing of Puerto Rico) championship title earlier this month at the 2008 Corona Extra Pro at Middles Beach on the Northeast coast of Puerto Rico. The APSPR events are the most prestigious in the region attracting competitors from dozens of countries. “I love participating in the APSPR events, the competition is always very tough and the setting couldn’t be more beautiful,” said Anastasia. In true winning form, Anastasia maintained smooth style in the challenging five to seven foot conditions taking home the first place prize money. Immediately after her win, Anastasia flew to Brazil where she is competing in the Rio de Janeiro International, representing Airwalk footwear, apparel and swimwear.

Competing in surf contests since she was six, Anastasia has won over 200 local, regional and national titles. The 21-year-old pro surfer from San Clemente has already taken two NSAA (National Scholastic Surfing Association) titles, the Professional Surfing Tour of America title and the Hawaiian Triple Crown Rookie of the Year. As one of the most popular female athletes in the United States, Anastasia has exploded onto the mainstream media scene, covering the pages of Teen People, Cosmo Girl, FHM and airing on Fuel TV, Fox Sports Network and Access Hollywood.
