Stratton Mountain, Vermont- Saturday October 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. the shop formerly known as Syd & Dusty’s will be celebrating its grand opening purple rain or shine.  The new store will house more than 80 percent of Burton’s line, including Private Stock, Late Model, and Green Mountain Project inventory, giving riders the largest selection of premium Burton apparel, gear, and more outside of the factory.

The grand opening will go off with music from Burlington’s D.J. Russell, refreshments, a raffle for a brand new Burton Series 13 board, an appearance by Burton Team Rider Yale Cousino, a showing of the first half of Burton’s new movie “It’s always snowing somewhere”, and more…not to mention tours of the store and a chance at getting first dibs on Burton’s 2009 line of goodies!

The store itself is 3017 square feet of pure Burton bliss and will be an unforgettable snowboarding shopping experience.  Blood, steel, energy saving fluorescent lighting, plaster, 100% recyclable shopping bags, wood, extremely knowledgeable employees, sweat, a fireplace, an efficient heating system, tears, and more than 5,000 SKUs of Burton product including merchandise from Burton subsidiaries Red, Anon, Gravis, and Analog, will all come together to make this store a destination in and of itself!

“The new store is one of a kind, there is no other like it,” says store manager Shannon Greene, “I am so happy and excited that all the hard work and commitment over the years from both Burton and Stratton has helped create a relationship that will only get better with age.”

Burton Snowboards and Stratton Mountain resort have been intertwined for many years dating back to the days of Jake Burton Carpenter convincing Stratton to allow him to test out the prototype boards of his fledgling company.  Soon after, the world’s first snowboard school was started at Stratton, followed by the adoption of the oldest and most prestigious snowboarding event (The U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships) to the slopes of Stratton where it will be returning in March for the 25th consecutive year.

This opening is a must attend for anyone who enjoys the sport of snowboarding and the culture attached to it.  For more information, visit Stratton.com.

This place is killer. I took a stroll past as they were doing the renovations and this is by far one of the best snowboard shops I’ve ever seen! Worth checking out the opening

anything that is 80% burton brands is not a snowboard shop. Its a factory store. A snowboard shop supports brands that have heart, Burton used to have that but they have grown past that. Also I can only imagine it is a softgoods store. A real snowboard shop is hardgoods driven. With 3000 sf you can’t carry 5000 sku and do a great job at both. Its a burton store
