Top Ten Closing In On Johnson

Hmm, there was no displacement in the top five this month, but everyone’s creeping up on each other.

Malto is creeping up on MJ. He racked up another few thousand points this month with Girl ads, Fourstar ads, and Bones ads, and had a few edit photos scattered throughout. MJ had a nicely photoshopped Utility ad, but no skate photos. We just might end up with a race for the end of the year tally…

It’s also worth mentioning that Malto’s Fourstar ad—a monster noseblunt—was shot from different angles, so depending on which mag you pick up, you’ll see different photos. Nice touch, guys.

On the advertising scale, August was Colin McKay’s time to shine. DC spreads, Nixon ads, and Plan B team ads and posters. Colin also had edit in Transworld’s vert article. His influx of coverage bumped him from __ to __ on the ad scale.

John Rattray jumped back into the top 10, with Zero spreads giving him a nice boost. Rattray also had a shot in Slap’s Skaters with College Degrees article. He’s currently tied for eighth place with fellow Osiris teammate Corey Duffel. Duff man was last year’s Exposure Meter overall winner, and also last month’s TW BIZ cover boy. But Rattray should have some “Welcome to Elwood” ads in the works, so it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top. Hey Rob Dotson—how about whoever comes out on top gets to keep the Osiris Aftermath tour bus?

Next month looks like it’s gonna be big for Kyle Leeper, Nick Trapasso, and Daewon Song, so we may be saying farewell to some Top-Ten contenders. Stay tuned…
