Encinitas, California (July 17, 2008) – Pleasure Ground Eyewear, the latest statement in premium, stylish eyewear announced today the launch of its fall line at the ASR show in September. Pleasure Ground is elevating standards in designer eyewear by providing timeless designs, with performance characteristics. The brand is committed to offering the active-lifestyle consumer eyewear that is consistently high in quality with fashion forward design for a retail cost of $95. Pleasure Ground also features specialty polarized or photochromic lenses in every pair of sunglasses, ideal for sun, water and snow.
Founder and designer of Pleasure Ground, Tom Kabbash, spent over 10 years creating eyewear for some of the industry’s most respected brands. In developing his own line, Kabbash has sought to combine his love for an active lifestyle with his experience designing for high-end fashion.
Pleasure Ground is ready to emerge itself into a culture and lifestyle that defines the brand. “By embracing the emotional connection we all share to find our own personal ‘pleasure ground,’ I have been inspired to design high-quality and comfortable glasses for those who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle, yet still appreciate style and design,” says Kabbash.
Pleasure Ground designs are simple and clean with distinct style, uniting active lifestyles and fashion. They are made to be the perfect every day eyewear with performance characteristics. “We are a brand that’s for people who aren’t necessarily into wearing ‘brand names on the side of their head,’ ” Kabbash says. “Pleasure Ground’s design is inspired by the classics from American culture, past and present. Our intention is to bring consumers today’s styles that will become tomorrow’s classics.”
The 2008 fall line features six new styles, including men’s, women’s and unisex styles in both classic and new colors and patterns.
Pleasure Ground frames and lenses are constructed using the most durable and advanced materials. The frames are made of a durable, unbreakable nylon, called TR-90. TR-90 is known for its properties of strength, flexibility and memory retention, in turn meaning Pleasure Ground frames will not lose their shape or break even in the most extreme conditions.
Pleasure Ground offers specialty lenses, exclusively in every pair of sunglasses for under $100. Each pair features either polarized lenses (they significantly cut glare) or photochromic lenses (the lenses change darkness according to the weather). Each Pleasure Ground polarized lens utilizes a technology that offers six layers of protection, are impact-resistant, are optically correct and provide 100% UV protection.
Pleasure Ground Eyewear is headquartered in Encinitas, just north of San Diego, where founder and designer, Tom Kabbash receives inspiration from the Southern California lifestyle in which the brand was born – laid back, with an edge.
