Press Release

The list of resorts for next year’s gold pass was released yesterday and the omission of Vail Resort’s mountains was not a typo.

Here’s the press release:

The 2008-09 Colorado Ski Country USA Gold Pass allows unlimited skiing and riding at 21 ski areas.

The first 100 of the passes are being offered for $2,000 each, according to Colorado Ski Country, a state trade association.

The pass offers unlimited skiing and riding with no blackout dates at: Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, Echo Mountain, Eldora, Howelsen, Loveland Ski Area, Monarch Mountain, Powderhorn, Ski Cooper, Snowmass, SolVista Basin, Steamboat, Sunlight Mountain Resort, Telluride, Winter Park and Wolf Creek.

The four Colorado resorts run by Vail Resorts — Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Breckenridge — are not part of the deal. Vail Resorts recently withdrew its membership in Colorado Ski Country.

“It’s a great option for those who want to experience the breadth of exceptional skiing and snowboarding that our member resorts offer,” said Melanie Mills, president and CEO of Colorado Ski Country USA, in a press release. “And because this pass is 100 percent transferable, pass owners can loan it to friends, family, and business associates as they see fit.”
