Never Summer Introduces Rocker Camber Boards For ‘08/09

rocker_lineup2.jpg The secret is out! Never Summer is stoked to present its all new, Recurve Camber with Vario Power Grip side-cut in a number of models for 08/09. Rather than launching a different deck altogether, our extensive testing has led us to drive this insanely fun and functional technology into much of our existing lineup. This consists of SL, Legacy, Evo, Infinity and Revolver models…just adding an R at end of names, and completely replacing the older versions. This Patent Pending technology will feature two cambered areas from the feet out toward the tip and tail and rockered under foot…giving riders crazy good response, power, pop, and stability that is NOT seen in other rockers!

The new side-cut, Vario Power Grip, combines both deep and shallow radius to give unmatched response and edge hold like nothing else on the market. As if the technology isnt enough to offer, we also managed to take a 1/4 to 1/2 pound off the previous year models making them some of the lightest boards anywhere! And dont worry, were still standing behind our product with the only 3 year warranty in the industry. Check out your local NS dealer for the new product in September 08!

Didn’t Inca drop dual camber around 2001? Would love to see a profile shot of these.

Ladies, pleez. I rode a 159 Never Summer with the recurve and, with all respect to the Mervin boyz, it blew the skate banana away. From pow to bumps it’s a true quiver-killa…peace out…

Man there alot of hating out there.
Lib is killer on the tech but the reality is they didn’t pull magna or banana out of their butts.
Reverse camber has been out for a long time and the catch phrase “because you are not sking” is bunk because reverse camber 1st came out for skis-as did reverse side cut (seen in the banana hammock).
Magna is theirs but they didn’t invent it they licensed the patent from europian inventor (again originally desigened for skis)
I’ve got a Lib TRS w/Magna and I love the way magnatraction works what I don’t love is how soft the board is. Everybody has differnet styles of riding. Mine is very aggressive and involes alot of “straight lining” and hi speed. Here in AK we don’t ride alot of grommers and I’ve found that off trail and off piste(aka backcountry) the TRS folds up at hi speed. The only way to keep the nose from folding up is to move the front binding all the way forward-this causes it’s own problems namely submarineing. The TRS was marketed as an all mountain board. It’s SICK for freestyle and I love it on the occasions I’m in the park. In fact the increased edge hold helped emmensely for not reverting out on 540’s. BUT the board cannot be trusted in high speed hi performance situations. My old NS Preimere can. I look forward to seeing if there new camber and edge tech works. If so I’ll buy one.

I enjoy how people think Mervin thought of everything first. Ignorance is bliss. The best thing about technology is when someone has something good, someone else comes along and makes it better. To each their own, but there will not be a banana under my feet, I will evolve.

the banana is definitely a sick “life changing” board, as a friend has told me. I think the technology is blowing up and why not take what skateboards have been doing for years and go with it. In 25 years of riding i have seen alot of fads come and go but the reverse camber, or ‘rocker” or whatever burton comes up with (cos we all know they will too), i think it may change the way everyone makes boards in the coming years. Never Summer has always had great customer service, solid boards and warranty. I can’t wait to try out the SL next year.

You are all showing your age on this one. Just because a person invents something does not mean it will be the best now and forever. just look at the ford model T yes it was the firs production car good on then but it was super seeded by something better within a year. get over your self’s.

Yall are stupid, these are not an exact copy of the libtech banana… Never Summer’s rocker has camber between the feet and the tip and tail of the board with the rocker in the middle, where as, the banana is rockered in the middle, and keeps going out from there… so it is not the exact same, it is not a copy, learn about what your talking abut before you actually start hating on it. And what i have heard so far, NS recurve boards eat bananas for breakfast lunch and dinner..
