According to a story posted Thursday, March 27, by the Associated Press, New Era Caps has been keeping a “hawk eye” watch on fashion trends in order to continue providing consumers with the freshest styles in head wear. Thirty designers at New Era Cap Co.’s Headquarters keep in touch with 15 colleagues in London and five in Irvine, Calif., in order to brainstorm new ideas and keep hat logos fresh, the story reported.

New Era, an 88-year-old, family-owned company, has been on the up and up lately, selling more than 35 million caps last year alone, according to the AP. But New Era’s design team admitted there was a method to the madness, revealing that by keeping such a close eye on trends in the world of hats, they have been able to predict the type of person who wears each particular style - right down to where they live and what they wear.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – Transworld Business, a division of Bonnier Corporation, is pleased to announce the complete relaunch of their Web site and hiring of Online Editor Kailee Bradstreet.

The Transworld Business Web site has been revamped with a new, cleaner and more organized layout featuring up-to-the-minute information that is refreshed throughout the day. Along with all of the elements of the print magazine, www.transworldbusiness.com incorporates videos, athlete and company interviews and profiles, and photo galleries displaying new products and event coverage. The new format and innovative features bring the site to the forefront of technology and create a more easily accessible path to the latest action sports industry news.

“This new site gives our readers the ability to track important industry news as it breaks,” says Rob Campbell, publisher of Transworld Business. “That combination of relevant info and valuable archival data creates the ultimate resource for anyone who makes a living in boardsports. I’m proud to finally have an online presence that lives up to the reputation Transworld Business has built in print.”

Kailee Bradstreet grew up surrounded by action sports enthusiasts, living only hours away from Sugarloaf and Sunday River – two of New England’s most notorious shred spots. Further building upon a journalism degree from the University of Maine, Kailee worked for a Carlsbad Web design company before she landed the position as Online Editor for Transworld Business.

“Kailee has the perfect skill set to coordinate our online efforts. She’s like a case study in the new breed of Web editor, a solid journalist at the core with sophisticated knowledge of new technologies available to deliver content most effectively.”

Rick McCrank Advocates For Animals in New PETA2 Vegetarian AD

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE — “Rick McCrank PETA2 AD. Shown on his skateboard doing a noseblunt in 15 sequential shots, McCrank goes on to say, “I am a professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and father. For me, eating meat feels unnatural.” You can view the ad here.

To coincide with the launch of the new ad, visitors to peta2.com can register to win top-flight gear from Momentum Wheels—which McCrank co-owns—including wheels, bearings, T-shirts, posters, and more.

McCrank’s fluid command of the skateboard earned him the title of “Best Street Skater” in 2000 in Transworld SKATEboarding magazine. Skateboarding is still his passion, but these days you can also find the Ontario transplant at Anti-Social, the Vancouver skate shop and art gallery that he also co-owns.

Why is a vegetarian diet the natural choice of people at the top of their game? Consumption of meat has been conclusively linked to heart disease, strokes, diabetes, some types of cancer, and obesity. Meat production is
also a leading cause of greenhouse-gas emissions, water pollution, and land degradation. And of course, the best way to fight the cruelty of factory farms and slaughterhouses is to kick the meat habit.
McCrank joins an ever-growing list of musicians and athletes—including TJ Schneider, Brian Fair from Shadows Fall, Paul Rodriguez, Rob Dydrek, Laban Pheidias, and Carey Hart—who have teamed up with peta2 and stepped in front of the camera to inspire kids to challenge outdated, cruel attitudes about animals.
