Loaded Boards Inc. announced that it is recalling 1,200 sets of its Orangatang brand “In Heat” wheels after receiving ten reports of them falling apart.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission the wheels can come apart at their core, shearing and then blowing out, causing the wheel to separate from a board’s truck axle and bearings.

The recall statement says the wheels were sold in March and April in two models: a purple, 75-millimeter version with 83a durometer (a measure of hardness, for you non-skater types) and an orange, 75mm, 80a-durometer version, the commission said.

No injuries have been reported from blow outs of the longboard wheels
