Canton, Ohio’s 30,000 square foot Indoor Evolution Skate Park, which opened its doors in 2004, is up for sale.
According to an article on cantonrep.com owner Shawn O’Brien is behind on his city loan payments.
Revenue has been lower than anticipated at Evolution Skate Park, and more promotions are needed, O’Brien said. The potential sale is in the discussion stages and has not been finalized, O’Brien said.
“It’s basically about passion,” O’Brien said. “I’m too busy with other endeavors to devote the time that is needed for the park. I believe it needs to be an owner-operator that has a passion for the (skate park) industry.
A balance of roughly $145,000 remains on the loan, according to a document distributed at the meeting. Monthly payments for the 10-year loan are $1,931; the most recent payment was made earlier this month for that amount.
