In anticipation of the Fall/Winter 2014 season, Kingpins Los Angeles will be showcasing a wide range of seminars to help your business run more smoothly at its upcoming trade show at the Cooper Design Space. Check out the full press release and seminar schedule below.
LOS ANGELES (June 20, 2013) Kingpins Los Angeles – July 9/10 – will offer a selection of local contractors and a variety of seminars ranging from Mergers & Acquisitions to the emergence of Tomboy Style and upcoming trends for the Fall/Winter 2014 season at it upcoming show at the Cooper Design Space.
“We want Kingpins Los Angeles to be a place for the Los Angeles denim market to gather, discover interesting resources from the global denim market and from within their own backyard, learn about important issues and be inspired,” said Andrew Olah, Founder of the Kingpins Show.
The Los Angeles section, dubbed the L.A. Workroom, will feature UCAN Zippers USA, a Los Angeles-based maker of zippers that manufactures locally; TSF Global, which will feature innovative photo-real embroidery, flocking, printing and coating techniques for denim and knits; BasicLine, a Kingpins veteran that specializes in beautiful and on-trend embellishments; and Patricia Brandt Company, which will feature Pantone’s latest offerings. Linesman, a Los Angeles-based full-package maker of jeans, knits and wovens, has also joined Kingpins this season.
Smartex, a Turkish industrial laundry equipment manufacturer, will bring a washing machine from its Miracle series and will be offering live demonstrations for the duration of the show. Smartex’s machine reduces the amount of water, waste water, chemicals and heating energy needed to wash garments by 50%, thanks to its innovative design. Smartex’s washing machine also requires 40% less energy. Engineers from the company will be available to provide in-depth information on the show floor.

Mergers & Acquisitions: How to Acquire Capital Investment to Help Your Brand Grow
Experts will discuss the opportunities and requirements for angel investors, private equity, and corporate mergers. Panelists will include Jeff Kapor, shareholder at Buchalter Nemer; Philippe Faraut, managing director of Intrepid Investment Bankers; Nate Pingelton, principal at Marlin Equity; and Rich Anderson, managing director of Moss Adams Capital. Jeff Streader, founder of Go Global Retail will act as moderator and Ilse Metchek, president of the California Fashion Association will provide an industry overview.

Lizzie Garrett, author of the book “Tomboy Style: Beyond the Boundaries of Fashion” and creator of the popular blog Tomboy Style, will talk about the tomboy’s experience in the retail market; the rise of tomboy style; the love affair between brands and blogs; and what makes for a successful brand/blogger collaboration.
