On January 29, the L.A. Times reported that Mammoth Mountain has let go of 101 employees as a cost-cutting measure due to a 21-percent drop in revenue from preseason projections.

CEO Rusty Gregory confirmed the news in an interview with KSRW radio. He also said that ten senior managers have received five-percent pay cuts, vacation time has been shortened, and gas allowances have been eliminated.

“I feel awful about it – that it’s been necessary and that employees have lost jobs,” Gregory said.

Nice to see Starwood, Intrawest and Gregory would rather keep 83$ a day lift tickets and their inflated salaries instead of helping 101 people who live and love the mtn lifestyle employed! Bravo…

Mammoth used to be sick.. That place is lame as a turd now… I will not be going to mammoth this season and I have about 7 friends that usually go up to mammoth 4-5 times for 3 days at a time each season. They are all NOT going to mammoth this year. Every year ticket prices go up and up. But even better resort like Mt Bachelor and Mt Hood can offer lift tickets in the $60 range even for 09/10. Mammoth CAN'T touch those two mountains. Screw Mammoth… You people are running that place into the ground.
