SkateFest Fairfax 2013
/ Sk8 For a Cause is back and bigger than ever. Now in its 7th year, SkateFest has raised over $30,000 for the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Skaters making a positive contribution to the community, raising money for sick kids, awesome! Last year over 1,000+ spectators and 350+ participants, from ages 5-50, took part in this annual skate competition and fundraiser.
SkateFest is the largest AM contest in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area which attracts hundreds of skaters who compete in brackets organized by age winning trophies, and prizes. The support from local and national companies last year was incredible. We received over $20,000 in prize donations to reward the skaters raising the money for Children’s National!
On Friday and Saturday, June 21-22, 2013, participants of all ages will “Sk8 For A Cause,” to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center. After completing the Sk8 For a Cause 4-checkpoint course through Wakefield Skate Park in Fairfax County, VA, skateboarders, their families and friends enjoy a day of skateboard competitions, vendors, food, demos, auctions, music and more! Families, friends and participants of all ages from VA, MD and DC will participate in this 2-day festival.
Last year was our biggest event yet and we would like to build on that success to make this year even better! Check out the coverage from last year!
This event would not be possible without the generous product donations and sponsorship support from companies and individuals over these last 7 years.
