Vans released a concise memo yesterday stating that the the 2009 Vans Cup had been canceled.

The memo reads:

We regret to announce that the 2009 Vans Cup has been cancelled.

Thank you to everyone who has played a role in making the Vans Cup one of the world’s top snowboarding events.
We apologize for any inconvenience this news may cause.

The fifth annual event was scheduled for Mammoth and was also slated to be the culmination of the Vans Mini Cup series which hosted rail events earlier this season at Winter Park and Loon. No further details are available at this time.
