Ski Vermont Announces Staff Changes in Marketing Department

PRESS RELEASE

Montpelier, VT (February 13, 2013) – The Vermont Ski Areas Association (VSAA) is excited to announce two staff changes for 2013. Kyle Lewis, formerly the Marketing Manager at Ski Vermont, has been promoted to the role of Director of Marketing, replacing Jason Gibbs who stepped down in December 2012 to start his own consulting firm. VSAA welcomes Hilary DelRoss on board to fulfill the position of Marketing Manager left open by Lewis’ promotion.

Kyle Lewis joined the Ski Vermont team as the Marketing Manager in 2010 and has been representing ski areas across the Green Mountains through her involvement in Ski Vermont promotions and programs. Lewis came from Sugarbush Resort before she joined the Ski Vermont team where her specialties included group sales with emphasis on season passes, offsite tickets, international sales and group packages.

Delross Lewis VSAA staff changes

Lewis graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College in 2004 with a major in Spanish and a minor in American Studies. Her extensive travels include a year of teaching English as a foreign language and a semester of studying abroad, both in Madrid, Spain. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration in August of 2012 from Norwich University while working full time for Ski Vermont.

A native Vermonter and avid skier, working for Ski Vermont has brought together Lewis’ passion for her favorite sport and her pride in her home state.

Lewis will be working closely with Ski Vermont’s new Marketing Manager, Hilary DelRoss, who comes to VSAA from local wholesale wine distributor, the Vermont Wine Merchants’ Company, in Burlington. There she specialized in sales and marketing support, focusing on product catalog management, event coordination, collateral distribution, and reporting to suppliers. She also participated on the production team for the annual Burlington Wine and Food Festival, held each summer at Burlington’s Waterfront Park, merging her interests in local food production, small business promotions, travel and tourism.

Despite living in Vermont for just a few years, DelRoss said she already feels very connected to the community through her involvement with several for- and not-for-profit organizations in and around Burlington and the time she has spent exploring the Green Mountains. DelRoss previously lived and worked within Colorado’s winter tourism industry in front line, business administration and volunteer positions.

DelRoss graduated from Emmanuel College in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Her foray into travel and tourism started while participating in two back to back study abroad programs. A Southern New England native, DelRoss had traveled to the North Country to ski, snowboard and cross country ski for over 10 years.

Now that she lives here, DelRoss said, “I enjoy hosting as many out-of-state friends and family as will come visit me in Vermont and I proudly show them around. I love that I am now able to extend that hospitality on a larger scale through Ski Vermont.”
