CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, January 22, 2013 – Following its appointment as the Official Compression Supplier of the USSA late last year, high performance sports brand, 2XU, is poised to execute its strongest snow season yet.
The dynamic eight year sponsorship calls for the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing athletes to wear 2XU Compression for athletic training and recovery. Now in its first full year, 2XU will utilize the partnership to not only grow its relationship with USSA athletes and training staff, but North America’s extensive snow market at large.
“We’re excited about the direction of our USSA sponsorship for the coming year,” said Fred Hernandez, Director of Marketing for 2XU North America.
“The U.S. Ski Team is currently enjoying a fantastic season with recent high-profile wins – an ideal climate to highlight the use of our technical compression apparel by the best snow athletes in the world!”
The 2XU Compression base layer collection goes beyond just warmth; offering additional performance-oriented benefits. The innovative compression category enables winter athletes to train longer, perform stronger and recover faster. Developed in conjunction with leading research and sporting institutes, the light yet powerful and durable garments heighten circulation to aid muscle performance, reduce muscle pain and damage for faster recovery, and provide natural thermo regulation for ultimate comfort. Products span the new Alpine Compression Sock to the staple Thermal Compression Tight.
“2XU Compression apparel continues to be an integral component for the recovery and training of our athletes,” said USSA High Performance Director, Troy Flanagan. “As our athletes continue their strong showing in the series of European events, having access to this technical compression wear will allow for faster recovery between races and during travel to the various events. 2XU Compression will help our athletes to continue their strong run this season!”
“The alliance presents new opportunities for retailers to enhance their in-store ranges by offering customers precisely the same 2XU Compression garments utilized by the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing athletes during and after competition,” said Hernandez.
“Our focus at the SIA Snow Show will be to showcase the range and deliver the technical information demanded by retailers to successfully add this hot new category to their existing lines.”
To learn more about the partnership as well as 2XU’s Thermal Compression category, members of the 2XU team will be on-site at the SIA Snow Show, January 31-February 3, 2013 (Booth #846). They will be happy to answer any questions relating to this partnership as well as discuss its thermal compression base layer line.
