Monica Wise, president  and creative director of L*Space, took a few minutes to chat with TransWorld Business about what she sees as the up and coming trends for 2013.

What trends will we see in next year’s line? (colors, cuts, fabrics, etc.)

For colors trends were loving pastels. Will be featuring hombre prints, lazer cutouts and reversible silhouettes

What changes are you seeing on the business side?

We’re starting to see more of an all year round business for swimwear.

We have seen increases from a lot of our retailers. This year was an early strong retail season, a lot retailers experienced early strong sales for swim versus the year before. The sales channels have grown within the mid-west territories this season.

Is the number of SKU’s in your line expanding or contracting? Why?
We are holding price on most of the range within the collection. The sku count will be lower, as we want to go narrow and deep with the seasonal plan.

What were the biggest successes of last season?

Of course the Dolly and Audrey Fringe was hot ticket item this season, but our macramé’ and novelty constructed silhouettes were very strong as well.

What additions are you making for next year? What won’t we see as much of?

The biggest addition to our collection this year will be our reversible program, which will offer our girl a chance to master the mix within our prints and solids.
